Overview: 7 Essential Email Marketing Tips
Email Marketing is one of the most cost-effective ways to market and promote your golf course and all of its amenities. Here are 7 essential tips to make sure your email marketing is a success.
1) Keep Your Message Short
Assume your golfers are busy and in a hurry. Keep your content short and to the point.
2) Make it Relevant
Your readers want content that means something to them: specials, unique offers or tips.
3) Never Make Images an Inherent Part of Your Message
You may not know this, but most ISP’s do not allow their email users to view images. That is the default setting. If you embed important text in your images, readers will not see your message.
4) Build Your Own Email List
Use every opportunity to attract new email subscribers. Don’t buy an email list. They’re expensive, unfocused and likely ineffective.
5) Use Prime Delivery Hours Whenever You Can
The best times to send emails are early mornings or early afternoons on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So plan ahead and use these time slots to your advantage. Try to avoid sending emails any other day, unless you are targeting a specific event.
6) Create Smart Subject Lines
What is going to grab your golfers’ attention? Avoid using all CAPS or exclamation points. These tend to trigger spam filters.
7) Your Course is Unique, Your Email Designs Should be Too
Avoid email templates that look just like the guy down the street. Because they look similar, they dilute your hard-earned brand message. Use attractive, customized email designs that show off your unique property. Golfers will recognize and expect them. They will associate them with your “Brand.”
You’ve spent a lot of time and money building your brand, make sure you capitalize on it with every email you send.
